About this course

Whether you are a business owner, senior manager or a head of a function in a large corporate or you simply lead one person, this course will contain useful information and learning for you.

Leading people is not easy.  It is, however incredibly rewarding when you get it right.  It's probably one of the hardest things a business owner has to do and one of the many challenges that face those people who have either chosen or who have found themselves in a position of leadership.

No one was born with all the skills needed to be a good leader.  It's not an innate talent that some people have and some people don't have.  It's true that some people are better at it than others and that some people find it easier than others.  However, event the people who find it slightly easier, still need to practice their skills.

Businesses are brilliant at promoting superb practitioners into leadership roles.  Every business we've ever come across has made this mistake.  How do you find the leaders of the future in your business and how do you reward those people who are brilliant at what they do, but should never be put in charge of people.

There are no absolute answers.  There is no 'one way' to do leadership.  We encourage you to take this course, read books, listen to podcasts, videos etc about leadership.  The best way to learn how to improve your leadership skills is to watch the best leaders around you.  Learn from them.  Pick their brains and watch and listen to what they say and how they say it.

The Trices 21st Century Leadership programme is derived from a huge range of learning gathered together by the partners over decades.  We've read more books than you can shake a stick at and watched more talks, videos and sat through conferences than is really healthy!  We've taken the essence of our own learning, experience and utter failures, the best of what we've seen out there and key elements from some of the world's best leadership gurus.

This is a distilled version.  Your leadership journey never ends.  Use this as a reminder, starting point, refresher, refiner and point in the right direction.  Then keep reflecting, learning and growing your skills.

Our three elements of leadership are: leading yourself, leading the business and leading others.

Enjoy.

Learn more about leading the business

Consider the business as a person. The business needs as much thought, attention and energy as the people within the business. Maintaining the balance between commercial and cultural needs is essential. We show you how.

Learn more about leading people

People will confuse and delight you at the same time. Getting your head around the best way to create the best environment for people in which to thrive is an art and a skill. We give you some great tools to support you in this element.
